Permanent hair removal

The treatment gives a brief sensation lasting one to two seconds per hair. For new clients we recommend an initial 20-minute session so you can judge how well you tolerate it. If you are sensitive, you can apply a numbing cream such as Emla from the pharmacy yourself an hour before the treatment and cover the area with cling film.

Diathermy is effective on all types of hair, including light, fine, dark, thick and grey. The result is guaranteed provided the treatments are followed up and you avoid plucking, waxing or threading between sessions.

Avoid exercise and swimming on the day of the treatment. Sunbathing should be avoided for at least 10 days afterwards. We recommend using sun cream daily, particularly after these treatments.

You can use mineral or ordinary make-up straight after the treatment or the following day.

This varies from person to person and depends on how much hair you have in the area. It also depends on whether you have plucked or threaded the area before, and some areas respond more quickly than others. Sideburns and the upper lip, for example, usually show results faster than the chin and neck.

When you come for a diathermy treatment the hairs should be 2-3 mm long, or longer if they are light or fine. Please make sure they are prepared properly.
